Interview with our Wonderful Yasemin!

  1. Name?
Yasemin Delikan
  1. Nationality?

  1. How did you become a model?
I started modeling 2 years ago in Mumbai itself after coming to the city for dancing. That time I used to dance and act in a Bollywood musical in Germany and was invited to give a Stage Performance on New Years. Loving India, I decided to stay for the time my visa was valid and got some more assignments during that time, and finally decided to sign up with a modeling agency to become a fulltime model.
  1. What did you do before you became a model?
I used to perform on stage, but since this wasn't a secure income, I was working as well to finance my passion after finishing school. At times, I had two jobs at a time, plus going for rehearsals in the evenings and doing shows on weekends.
  1. What is you favourite shoot that you have done and why?
My favourite shoot was doing a main lead in a web-series called, "It's my City", which was produced by Priyanka Chopra. We shot 14 episodes in 10 days. We had days on which we were shooting up to 15h, so I didn't get much of sleep or a day of break at that time, but I loved doing it and I hope we will get a next season to shoot. I loved shooting for it, because it gave me the opportunity to grow more into acting, which was my passion before and is still my goal to reach.
  1. How did you feel during your first photo shoot?
I don't really remember, but I must have thought something like "I hope I am doing a good job".
  1. Describe yourself in five words.
Cute; honest; weird; intuitive; hardworking.
  1. What do you snack on between castings?
I try to eat healthy as much as possible, so I would always carry some fruits, dry fruits or nuts in case I get hungry in between castings.
  1. What is one makeup product you can’t live without?
Moisturizer. I am using Emolene which hydrates the skin very well.

  1. How do you keep in shape?
I try to go to gym whenever I am free, but more important for me is to eat healthy.
  1. Who is your biggest inspiration in the fashion industry?
I wouldn't say I have an inspiration or a role model in the fashion industry, but if I would have to name someone it would be Coco Chanel as she dared to 'free' women to squeeze themselves into tight corsages and heavy dresses and defined a new era and freedom in fashion for women.
  1. What do your family and friends think about you being a model?
I feel very lucky and grateful that I have a family that would always motivate me to go for my dreams and is supporting me in everything that I am doing. When it comes to my friends, I choose really carefully who is in my closer circle, and someone who wouldn't support me or couldn’t uplift me during tough times, wouldn't be someone I would want around for long.
  1. Why did you choose to come model in Mumbai?
I only chose to come to Mumbai, modeling happened for me over here.

  1. What are your model goals?

I am a hard working person and I always would give my best on any job and I want to gain a certain name and respect in this industry as model as well as as an actor.
  1. What has been the best advice you have received as a model?
The best advice I ever got is to always believe in yourself, being patient and that there is a time for everything in life. Especially as models we have to accept that there are times when we might not get a lot of work, but then there will be times again where we will work like crazy. 100%. For me the most important thing is to know what I want in life and see the bigger picture, so I don't get caught up in little things.
