Bandra, situated in suburban Mumbai, is also referred to as ‘Queen of the Suburbs’. Apart from being the area where most of the model houses are situated, it is also home to many famous Bollywood personalities, politicians and cricketers. Bandra is a hub of activity, best known for eating, shopping and the beautiful view of coastal Mumbai. Whether you are a new model to Mumbai, or looking for something different to do in your free time; here is a fun ‘Ten Things for Models to do in Bandra’ list for you. Happy exploring!
 
  1. Start Your Mornings at Carter Road.
A one kilometre walkway along the sea in Bandra West , Carter Road is a perfect place to go for your morning jog. Sunset walks along this beautiful promenade, are also a great way to clear your mind and get a change of scenery.   1. Eat a Healthy Meal at Bombay Salad Co.
Bombay Salad Co. located at 16th Road, Bandra West offers its customers light and healthy meals with an emphasis on health-conscious eating. It is a cosy place serving you fresh food with the perfect ambience. The most appealing part of the place is that one can make their own customized salads at an affordable price (perfect for models on a budget).
 
  1. Bandra’s own Shopping Paradise – Linking Road and Hill Road.
Heaven for a shopaholic! There is absolutely something for everyone from accessories, to shoes, to clothes. If you are looking for bargain shopping, then this is the perfect place. The important thing when shopping here is to haggle.
 
  1. For the Perfect Mumbai Souvenir- A Picture with the ‘Love Mumbai’ Installation.
The ‘Love Mumbai’ installation is set up at the promenade at Bandra Reclamtion.You can also see Mumbai’s stunning sky line over the sea at this spot. As such, for any traveling model, it’s a must have picture.
 
  1. Bandstand- A Rocky Love Affair.
Bandstand, popularly known as lover’s point, is a rocky sea shore. You can sit at the coffee shops along the sea and enjoy the beautiful sunset, or even go fo a walk. Just up the hill from Bandstan is the famous Mount Mary church, so it’s worth taking the walk(or auto rickshaw) up, if you’re looking for something touristy to do. Moreover, for models who would like to try the local street food, Bandstand is your spot. However, please keep in mind not to eat any street food during monsoon season!
 
  1. Cheat Day at Theobroma.
The word ‘Theobroma’ means the ‘God of Food’ and this place truly lives up to its name. This famous bakery offers scrumptious cakes, pastries and burgers. The must tries here, are their brownies and Red Velvet cake.

 
       7. For anArtistic Treat, Visit the Catholic Churches

The interiors and the architecture of the Catholic Churches in Bandra are a must see. Some of the more famous churches include Mount Mary Church mentioned above, St. Andrews, and St. Peters Church. Believers come from all over to Mount Mary church to offer wax statues to cure their ailments.
 
 
       8. Silver beach for a peaceful evening.
 
Connected to the fun Juhu beach, is a peaceful beach called Silver beach. You can take long walks at the beach and later head to the cafe near the beach for a cup of coffee. It is a paradise for people seeking a quiet place in the hustle and bustle of the city.
 

        9. For the Bollywood Enthusiast – Bollywood’s walk of Fame and Graffiti walls.
 
This is a section in the Bandstand Promenade honouring Bollywood film stars. Inspired by Hollywood’s walk of fame, this path features six statues of famous actors and about a 100 brass plates embossed with handprints and signatures of other stars. It was installed by Kareena Kapoor Khan in 2012.


        10.  Stick to Your Fitness Resolutions by Attending Aerial Yoga Sessions at Anshuka Yoga.
 
Aerial yoga is acrobatic arts combined with anti-gravity asanas,while at the same time being an accessible practice.Anshuka Yoga, is placed on 16th road, Bandra West, offering its clients the most serene Yoga experience.There are however, many other smaller places where one can practice more traditional forms of yoga, for those looking for a more authentic yoga experience. One just needs to do a little research and ask around, to find the perfect fit.
